It’s the last thankful Thursday of 2012! I hope it’s been a great year and everyone is having wonderful day!

Here is my thankful list for 2012:

  1. I’m thankful for my family who is crazy and loud and so much fun. They have supported me through all my endeavors.
  2. I am thankful to have graduated college this year in May. Even though I get sad and miss Virginia Tech, I can look back and know that my experiences have molded me into the person I am today. I can honestly say Virginia Tech was one of the best four years of my life and it has set me up to have even more “best years” to come!
  3. I am thankful for my sorority sisters and for my time living in the house and being a part of my chapter. I love that even though we are all now separated by many states and miles we still keep in touch from time to time. I miss all the times in the house just sitting around the great room and hanging out. So thankful for all those memories!
  4. I am thankful for my wonderful boyfriend who is one of the kindest and most loyal people I have ever meant. The strength and courage he shows in his own life dealing with his own troubles while being completely supportive of my day to day grumbles is really inspiring. I am happy to not only date him now but to have been his friend since we were 6 and on the swim team back in the day! He is a gem!
  5. I am thankful for my friends! It’s always nice to have a girls night or a happy hour!
  6. I am thankful for being healthy and I pray for those who are not.
  7. I am thankful for being able to watch my sister graduate on Tuesday. I am so proud of her she is one of my biggest inspirations for overcoming so many obstacles, especially her car accident. I think of how far she has come and how talented she is and I  am just so happy for her. I know she is going to do a lot of great things.
  8. I am thankful for getting to visit Tennessee, South Carolina, and North Carolina. I love to travel and I love road trips.
  9. I am thankful for the hardships I have faced this year. I am stronger person because of it. I have had several doors close to me that I thought I would get only to find an even better side door.
  10. I am thankful for all the times this year that have made me laugh so hard I am crying and my stomach hurts. I have had so much fun this year and gotten to really enjoy myself a lot!
  11. I am thankful for my gym membership. Nothing makes me feel better than a good work out at the gym.
  12. I am thankful for my small little side business on society 6. I never really thought of myself as being artistic in anyway or creative at all. All of the positive feedback has really meant a lot to me!
  13. I am thankful for scrubs, baggy sweaters, and leggings. I love comfortable clothes.
  14. I am thankful for cute animals and puppies. Honestly, a lot of my computer time is spent looking at them.
  15. I am thankful for my job. I am thankful that it is in the field I want to work in and I am thankful I get to work with a great group of people everyday! I am also thankful I have a job in general, I feel very fortunate.
  16. I am thankful for my grandmother’s Italian cookies.
  17. I am thankful for unanswered prayers and for things that I wanted to happen but didn’t. I’ve become a lot more humble and really learned a lot more about myself from this experience. Plus nothing lights a fire under your butt like failing at the thing you want most.
  18. I am thankful for all those who have been kind to me this year, even when I least deserved it.
  19. I am thankful for the obstacles I have overcome.
  20. I am thankful for all of the followers on this blog and the facebook page and the twitter. Honestly, I never thought so many people would enjoy it! Thank YOU!

What’s on your list?

I love this video, these little kids fight so hard everyday to survive. I am so thankful for all the work that St.Jude does to help keep them as healthy as possible and able to fight cancer longer. Please consider during this holiday season donating money, time, or food to those that desperately need it. The holidays are a great time to do something wonderful for someone else.

Be thankful for loved ones and friends in your life. At the end of your life it won’t be about money, status, or superficial things it will be about being with those that love and truly accept you.

Enjoy and be present in every moment when you are with loved ones; friends and family. Be thankful for the precious time you have with them. Things can change very fast so live and love in the moment and be thankful for all your times together.

Happy Thankful Thursday! I hope everyone’s week isn’t too crazy!

Here’s my list for this week:

  • I am thankful for my health. It’s so easy to take for granted our health when we are well and strong, but it really is such a blessing. I feel very thankful to be healthy.
  • I am thankful that I will see Ali graduate from College next week. I am so excited for her and I know she will do amazing things in the future.
  • I am thankful for semi nightly walks with my Dad and my dog Belle, it’s just a nice way to unwind and shoot the breeze.
  • I am thankful for my little Italian grandmother who worries about there being enough cookies for Christmas. She is the best and so funny.
  • I am thankful for Mahjong Mondays. They are very fun times with people that have become a very great part of my life!

That’s what’s on my list this week, what’s on your list? What are you thankful for?

Thankful for my family!

Yes, you!

You can do it! You have the tools within you to achieve what you want. It may seem like a steep mountain to climb and like you are only chipping away a little bit, but each little chip adds up. Soon you will be at the top looking down at all you have accomplished. Have faith in yourself and trust your abilities. You are better than you think.

Breath, relax, keep going!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great day!

Here’s my Thankful List for this week:

  • I am thankful for Independence Day, I saw little kids thanking a WWII vet yesterday and it really touched me that these kids knew how important this man was to our freedom.
  • I am thankful for Fireworks because they are awesome!
  • I am thankful for my job, I love working with little kids and getting to do what I love everyday!
  • I am thankful for my friends and family.

What’s on your list today?

In my first week as a post grad I am finding it extremely difficult to do the one thing I have been craving for four years: relax. I just can’t seem to settle down and clear my mind, just do nothing. Maybe it’s the fact that I am used to a high stressed, fast paced lifestyle (2-3 tests a week plus other projects) and that has all come to a screeching halt. I find myself looking to get busy and have no free time but at this current moment until my job starts there is quite literally nothing to do but take time off and relax.

It is unnatural but I am finding it is necessary. I have time to think and do things I want to do. I think this will be a beneficial time to discover hobbies and have experiences that will help me define myself post college. Also, it’s nice to sleep in, go for runs outside, and spend hours over my grandmother’s. It’s good to unwind and take a step back, have a breather. I feel re-energized, recharged, and motivated to hit the ground running once my life does pick up again. In a way doing nothing has motivated my want and need to do everything and dive right in again.

So from someone who is not used to relaxation I say, relax! It’s good for you!

It may be tempting to put yourself first and let others take the back seat. However, it is important to remember that the other people in your life, your friends and family have needs as well. Try to take time to consider their point of view and put them before yourself.
